Came in on 7/5. The lady working working was amazing and attentive. The atmosphere is fun and the old school arcade games make it a nice place to come get a drink and play some games!

Mano Negra Brewing seems like a fun place to hang out and relax with a beverage. The atmosphere has a chill 90's retro vibe and the service was friendly. I really enjoyed the art that was on display, alongside the vintage video and table games. I wish they had a few more beers on their menu, but that should come in time. They did, however, have a nice selection of sangrias.

Of the many hundreds of craft breweries I have visited around the US, only a handful have been owned by demographic minorities. When I find one, I am particularly excited, because I want to see more than just the predominant demo—white guys—creating and partaking of the brewer’s art.

But when I saw Mano Negra (“Black Hand”) online among other Lubbock breweries, I was thrilled. And because I was in town to visit all six breweries, there was no way I’d let this one slip by. In fact, I made it out to their location on Lubbock’s southwest side on my first night in town. Mano Negra is Lubbock’s only Latino-owned brewery. Of the nation’s nearly 10,000 breweries, only 2.2% are Hispanic- or Latino-owned.

While the tiny brewery had only four house beers on tap, they also had a couple from my Amarillo favorite, Pondaseta. Since I can get those at home any time, I opted for the Yagrumo Coffee Ale (6% ABV), a delightfully refreshing cream ale with a flavorful shot of coffee. I could drink this all night.

Since restraint is the better part of valor, I had only three glasses spread over a few hours, and bought a 32-ounce glass growler of it to take back home. There was an interesting mix of clientele, ranging from three guys on my left interested primarily in the Rangers/Cubs game, and a few university coeds to the right sipping house-made sangrias and munching on chicharrones.

And for that brief evening, I enjoyed patronizing a small place I expect to hear a lot more about. This was excellent beer.

Beautiful atmosphere being in cactus alley! Their small bar is so cozy and fun. The BEST sangria I’ve ever had. Try the after sunset one!! The owner is so friendly and such a down to earth guy. I’m not a fan of beer but everyone that I know that has had the beer has said it is amazing! You won’t regret going there!

Awesome craft brewery! Great beer and service. Nice selection of craft brews and sangria. Owner has a record player and will put on whatever you want if he has it. Lots of vintage puzzle games to play while sitting at the bar. Just an overall chill atmosphere. So glad we checked this place out. We will be back!

So much passion! And it shows in their fantastic, unique beers.
I met the owner, he gave me a private tour and showed me their plans for the future. He is super excited about his craft and committed to the people of Lubbock.
This place is a gem! In the sprawling urban Lubbock scene, Mano Negra is tucked away in this small enclosed courtyard, it’s cozy inside, and there’s records playing that patrons picked out. The beer is of the highest quality! This place is a must see and definitely a place I’ll be returning to every time I’m in town.
